The City of Guthrie (KY) will receive separate, sealed Bids for their Park Street Sidewalk Project until 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the Guthrie City Hall located at 110 Kendall Street, Guthrie, Kentucky 42234, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. The contract involves the construction of nearly 2,000 SY of new concrete sidewalk, nearly 300 LF of new storm sewer, other appurtenances and related work along East Park Street, beginning at the CSX Railroad and all within the City of Guthrie. Bids are to be addressed to the City of Guthrie, 110 Kendall Street (PO Box 125), Guthrie, Kentucky 42234, and shall be marked “Sealed Bid – Park Street Sidewalk Project.” Bids are also to include on the outside, Bidder’s name and address and the Bid receipt date and time. Bids shall be prepared in compliance with the requirements of the Bidding Documents. The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is: McGhee Engineering, Inc., at P.O. Box 267, 202 South Ewing Street, Guthrie, Kentucky 42234 or by calling (270) 483-9985. Perspective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8:30-4:30 pm, and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below.
The City of Guthrie has set a goal that not less than 3% of the total value of this contract be subcontracted to Disadvantaged Business Enterprises. The goal for the utilization of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises as subcontractors is a recommended goal. Contractors who fail to meet such goal will be expected to provide written explanations to the City of Guthrie efforts they have made to accomplish the recommended goal, and the extent to which they are successful in accomplishing the recommended goal will be a consideration in the procurement process. A Pre-bid Conference will be held at 2:00 P.M. local time, on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at the Guthrie City Hall, 110 Kendall Street, Guthrie, KY 42234. Bidders are encouraged to attend and participate in the conference.
Bidders and DBE subcontractors must be prequalified with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and possess a Certificate of Eligibility at the time of the bid opening. All other sub-contractors must be prequalified when accepting subcontracts.
